Losing My Mind

Bonjour!

I wore this outfit today to go to the vintage kilo sale, as mentioned in my last post, with my sister. It was so cold so I layered it up with about 5 layers in total, and I was still cold. The kilo sale was amazing, even better than usual. Normally, I buy about 2 kg of vintage clothes at the most, but I found so many gems today that when I got to the weighing counter, it came up to 3.9 kg. I really wasn't expecting to get this much at all, but in total, I got 10 items including 2 denim jackets, 3 tops, 2 skirts, 1 shirt and 2 dresses which meant that I paid about £5.80 per item. Such a bargain and I found so many amazing items which I know I will definitely be wearing in spring/summer too. But as I said before, I got 3.9 kg of clothes and my arm is absolutely killing me, my left arm feels so weak at the moment, but it was so worth it. Afterwards, my sister and I went to GBK in Spitalfields for a much needed burger feast. All in all, I had a really good day and I am so happy with my purchases. Smiles all round

My half term started yesterday, so I finally have a very needed week off school. I would love to be spending it watching films and eating lots of food, but unfortunately, I got an impossible amount of homework from school so I've decided that I'm going to be a recluse and stay in for a whole week working away. LOVE MA LYF.

Recently, I have been listening to Summer Camp's Welcome to Condale non-stop and I suggest that you do too. Their 80s inspired melodies using samples taken from various 80s/90s films and tv shows have got me hooked. Some of my favourites are: I Want You, Ghost Train, Better Off Without You, Losing My Mind and Brian Krakow. Actually, I just love the whole album, so I suggest that you go and have a listen pronto!

Hat from H&M

Heyyy, long time no post. Been super busy with school, but I just wanted to show you guys one of my new favourite purchases from H&M, a black felt boater hat. I'll probably wear it on Saturday when I go to the Vintage Kilo Sale in Brick Lane with my sister. I'm so excited as I have been for the last few sales and have always left with a big bag full of vintage goodies for ridiculously cheap prices (£15 per kilo of clothes), anyone who is free on Saturday and is in London, I really recommend you go, but make sure you get there early to snap up the best pieces!

Heyyyyy guys, I'm back with an outfit. Yeeeeeah.

So today, Melissa (but I'm sure you're all familiar with her and her awesome blog already :D) and I went to Portobello Market for some vintage shopping and for me to give her her Christmas present. I forgot to give it to her before Christmas so that's why she got it today haha. We both found some really good bargains. I got a new (old) school bag for £10, then two other gorgeous bags for £5 each from an amazing stall which I will definitely be returning to next time I go there. I also found a lovely fisherman knit jumper for only £5 (mind-blown.) and a red oversized checked shirt for £2 which I think I'll be wearing to bed as it's so big and I have enough checked shirts to be honest. Then after some lunch at Caffe Nero, we decided to go to High Street Kensington to check out some of the sales. Before today I hadn't actually been sales shopping yet as I wasn't too bothered this year and from what I saw online, they didn't seem that good as they have been previously. Having said that, I did find some bargains. First of all we went to Urban Outfitters. I love the UO in High Street Kensington, it's 3 huge floors of goodness. I found the Facehunter book, which I have been eyeing up forever and after getting it for Melissa a couple of years ago but I was so tempted to keep it for myself, for just £5. SO GOOD. Then I got some loafers from Topshop and a huge mug which I have been on the lookout for forever from Whittards. All in all I good shopping day where I ended up spending a bit more than I had planned, I need some shopping counselling, anyone wanna help me? I NEED HELP.

The Drums

On 9th December 2011, Melissa and I went to see The Drums at Shepherds Bush Empire. We got there about 2 hours before the doors opened to ensure that we could get as close to the front as possible. After freezing for what seemed like centuries, the doors finally opened and we walked very quickly to the front of the stage, right up against the barriers. It was perfect. We were just a couple of metres away from where Johnny Pierce would be and we were getting more and more excited as the night went on. The first support act was The History of Apple Pie, who were really good and the singer is asian too...yeahhhh go Asians. Lolz. And then the second support act were Cloud Control, a band from Australia. At first, I didn't really know who they were but when they sang a few of their songs, I instantly recognised Gold Canary and There's Nothing in the Water We Can't Fight. They were so good live and the front man was awesome. And then finally, it was time for The Drums. The lights dimmed and Jacob and Connor (ahh, Connor.) walked on stage. Jacob went to his cool little synth station near the back of the stage and Connor was on the other side. Then Johnny finally came on the the crowd did go crazy, me included. I was kinda gutted that Jacob and Connor were so far away as I love them, but Johnny was so unbelievably close so in a way, that made up for it I suppose. They were amazing live, a few favourites were Best Friend, Down By The Water and Book of Revelation but to be honest, I loved them all. Tickets were only about £16 and were so worth it, if they were doing a gig anywhere near you guys, then I really recommend that you see them. I love their style too, the awkward ankle swingers, perfectly worn in shirts and Connor's amazing head of hair. I just wanna go and see them all over again now, anyone wanna buy me a ticket? :D

I hope you all had an awesome Christmas, this is a scheduled post as I'll probably be in bed right now recovering from a crazy night of partying. LOL jk, my cousins and I will probably have stayed up all night playing Just Dance and Rock Band, and eating too much chocolate. So much fun.

Christmas in London

Boyfriend Coat + Slouchy Beanie

Heyyyyy, finally an outfit post yay.

Today, Melissa and I went to London for a Christmassy outing. We went to the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park first of all, visiting the huge Christmas market, smelling the quintessential smell of Christmas (cinnamon, nutmeg etc.) and eating some churros. Nom nom. However, we didn't spend that long there and we still had a whole day to do something, so after taking some photos in Hyde Park, we went to Covent Garden for some lunch at Starbucks and a wander around the market and some shops. I got some overpriced American candy from Cybercandy (but it's JUST SO GOOD) and then our final stop of the day were the book shops along Charing Cross Road. We spent ages in them, browsing the huge selection of a massive mish mash of books. There were loads of old editions of classics, some newer used books and finally in the basement were the foreign books and the bargain shelves (£1 for a book or £4 for 5, so good.). After looking at all the shelves for a good forty minutes, I finally decided to buy the original French edition of 'Le Petit Prince' and a guide to Paris written in 1955. I was so glad that Melissa took me to these shops, they have such a wide selection of different books for really reasonable prices and I could easily spend a whole afternoon in there.

Onto the outfit, I got this jumper on sale for £15 from H&M on Monday which is so good seeing as I was actually going to buy it full price, but decided not to as I wasn't completely sure if I actually liked it or not. But when I got home and started to style it with other things I started to wonder what was my life like before without this amazing piece in my wardrobe?! It's so warm and cosy and I'm in love with the colour. Another new purchase is this slouchy beanie I got from ASOS. I'm not really a winter hat person but seeing this hat on the model on the website convinced me that I SHOULD be a winter hat person. Not only is this hat very practical for the chilly weather, it's also beautiful with the shimmery speckles on plain navy and I love the slouchy-ness of it.

Also, I finally developed my photos from The Drums so hopefully I'll scan them on Thursday and I can show you guys how amazing they were. There were some crappy photos, but I got some good ones of Johnny, but I just wish I had better ones of Connor (ahhhh, Connor.) and Jacob, but Connor was right on the other side of the stage and Jacob was at the back doing his synth thangggg. But more on that later...

I'm going to go back to stuffing my face with chocolate now, I have so much, but hey, it's Christmas so it's totally justified.

Bonjour!

I had a half day at school today as it was my last day before the Christmas break whooooo. My first term in sixth form has had it's ups and downs, the 'downs' being mainly the huge amounts of work I had to do, and the 'ups' are being able to study my favourite subjects and not having to do any more maths ever. I hate maths.

Random post again, just my face heh heh heh. I had way too much fun taking these photos by myself, I'm quite busy next week so I should be able to fit in some outfit photo taking when I'm out and about. Yayz.

I'm going to go back to watching Clueless now, which is one of my new favourite movies. I love Cher in it, and the styling as well is amazing, feeling inspired by the matching tartan suits and mini skirts. Anyhow, I'll leave you with a bonus photo of me pulling a very attractive face:

Forever 21 dress

Oh heyyyy!

Bit of a lazy post today, I just had to show you this gorgeous dress/slip I got from Forever 21 yesterday, it was only £16.75, which I thought was so good as the material is so nice and it's such a versatile piece to have in your wardrobe. I can see outfits with this with a chunky knit over it in the winter, or with a plain white t-shirt under it, an oversized checked shirt and a pair of my toughest/ugliest boots, 90s style.

Melissa and I went to see The Drums on Friday, which was so amazing, but more on that when I have developed my photos as it deserves a whole other post. I will try and do a proper post soon, but school is crazy at the moment so I will do one when I can. Meanwhile, watch this awesome music video for The Black Keys - Lonely Boy. I love this guy, I'll never be able to be as cool as him, you may think I'm joking but I'm being serious. He's awesome. :')

Creeping in the streetlight

Hey! Finally an outfit post :)

Melissa and I went to the Natural History Museum on Sunday, and after a long journey to South Kensington (Why does TfL just fail on Sundays? *angry face*) we finally made it to the museum. I love visiting museums, my favourite one in London is probably the British Museum as I'm a sucker for Egyptian artefacts and Mummies. I hadn't been to the Natural History Museum for a few years so it was nice visiting again and going to the Dinosaur gallery especially. Now I really want to visit the Museum of Natural History in New York as my sister told me how amazing it is there, and also after watching Night at the Museum a gazillion times, I want to be a night guard at the museum too. Yeah that's right. Booyah. Afterwards, we went to Pret for some lunch, but not before finding a quiet road of beautiful houses and taking some photos. We started off with the usual outfit photos, but then we decided to do some action shots, and oh what a good idea that was. After receiving some weird looks from passers by, we went ahead and did what we do best, jumping, kicking the air and doing star jumps. It was a good idea at the time, ok?

At the moment, I'm at home as I've got a day off from school today, yay, and another day off on Wednesday, double yay. I'm going to watch some films, eat some chocolate and paint my nails a nice festive glittery green colour. Now I'm going to go back to doing nothing (I'm so good at that).

A random collection of photos from the last couple of days, been so busy from school work recently and haven't had any time to take outfit photos *sad face* But managed to take a few photos of the new love of my life, my Cambridge Satchel Company satchel. After ordering it early September and expecting to wait a month for it (as they hand make them to order) I was getting pretty annoyed after 2 months of waiting and still no sign of my bag. After 2 e-mails (one of which was a pretty angry sounding one, thanks to the help of my sister who is awesome at writing angry e-mails) I finally received it! It was a present from my mum after my GCSE results and it was so worth the wait. Knowing it was brand new, and had been made to order (selfish as it sounds, it's probably the closest I'll get to a made to order bag after an Hermes Birkin obvs) made it even more special. The red leather is beautiful, and I'm glad I opted for an 'A' to be engraved onto it as well. It's the perfect size as well, not too big, but big enough so I can fit all my crap into it. I can't wait to use it!

I had such a long weekend, doing my English coursework for the whole of Saturday and Sunday is not my idea of fun, but I've finished it now so I can finally breathe a big sigh of relief. Ahhhhhhh. I never want to see a copy of Doctor Faustus or Hamlet ever again...that is until I have to do my final draft, but until then, I'm happy with reading Jane Eyre for the time being. To help me get through the weekend, I drank several cups of tea and munched my way through a big packet of Minstrels, courtesy of my lovely sister.

The 'A' with all of The Strokes' songs on it was a birthday present from Melissa. It was such a thoughtful present seeing as we both share a mutual love for The Strokes and it's sitting on my shelf with all of my other favourite things :D Thanks Melissa! The postcard was from my trip to Paris in the summer from the Louvre, I love the painting on it, it kind of reminds me of Les Misérables (which is probably my all time favourite musical) and it reminds me of our (my sister and I) awesome trip to Paris.

I'm going to London for some shopping on Saturday, and to go to the V&A with Melissa on Sunday, so I'll try and squeeze some outfit photo taking in as it's been too long since my last outfit post...

Oh heeeeeeey!

Taking a break from my French homework to post, yayz. On Saturday, Melissa and I went to Brick Lane to go to the Vintage Kilo Sale. A sale in which there are rails upon rails of amazing vintage, you rummage through them, find whatever you want and pay by weight, only £15 per kilo! I got three items and paid £20, which roughly works out to be about £6 per item, which is pretty darn awesome considering I got quite heavy pieces of knitwear. Then afterwards, we went on a stroll around the vintage shops of Brick Lane as none of the stalls were open because it was a Saturday and market day is Sunday :( But we still had a good time nonetheless, which includes being advised on where/how to take outfit photos by a strange man, going to another kilo sale in Brick Lane and eating some yummy food.

I'm currently catching up (and by 'catching up' I mean 'frantically trying to cram in a whole week's worth of homework into one day') on my half term homework which is killing me quite frankly. But it's ok, I've got sour pastilles and Florence and the Machine playing to get me through this tough time. If you didn't already know, I'm a huge fan of Florence and her lovely machine and I can't wait for the release of Ceremonials (tomorrow, yay!) but for now, I've been playing this on repeat to keep me going:

New things

Cath Kidston bag, Mulberry Bayswater bag, Topshop oxblood skirt, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, Topshop nail polish, The Vintage Tea Party Book

Some new things I have acquired lately. I needed a new school bag so went into the new Cath Kidston store in my local shopping centre and the beautiful iconic floral print instantly stood out amongst all the other beautiful things in that shop, it makes the perfect school bag as it perfectly fits all my ring binders, textbooks, my planner and other crap I insist on brining into school. My sister kindly gave me the Mulberry bag. It's huge and is the most gorgeous printed leather. The fact that it's so big is perfect for me as I always stuff my bag full of stuff I probably wouldn't use, but you never know when I might need 5 lip balms right? And it perfectly fits my camera in there too, so it's the perfect size and I love it. I recently got the skirt from Topshop as I am in love with the oxblood colour at the moment and it's the perfect Winter skirt. Also it doubles up as a sixth form skirt too which is always good as I always feel like I'm struggling to put outfits together for school nowadays -_- Planning to do an outfit post soon with this skirt too, hopefully when I can find a good place to take photos. I'm currently reading Jane Eyre for English Literature at school and I'm enjoying it so far, also because I've seen the film, it's nice being able to picture what I'm reading in the book and makes it a lot easier to read. Finally, I got the Vintage Tea Party Book yesterday, it combines my two loves - vintage and baking! It tells you how to host the perfect 'vintage dinner party' from recipes, to how to make fascinators, to how to make your own vintage apron. It's awesome, I highly recommend it, if not for the recipes, then purely for the beautiful illustrations and attention to detail throughout the book.

HEY! :)

Long time no post. So much work for school, but I'm really enjoying it so far, however, all the work from school means not much time to post :(

Anyways, so I went to London with Melissa on Sunday for some much needed retail therapy. It was so warm as it has been for a few days now in London, it was about 29 degrees and sunny. But I was kinda hoping for autumn weather as I wanted to layer up, wear jumpers and coats as I love dressing for colder weather, but when it's this warm, it's hard to put together an outfit that doesn't consist of short shorts and a vest top which was all I wore this summer. Also, that's probably because I'm so not used to dressing for warm weather as here in England, we'll probably only get a few really hot days a year, and the rest is just cold and rainy so I've become pretty good at layering haha. So Melissa and I first went to the Monki concession in Selfridges, which I was so excited about visiting. After reading so many Scandinavian fashion blogs for quite a long time (THEY'RE JUST SO WELL DRESSED.) I had been hoping for a Monki to come to London for a long long time. After they opened a store in Hong Kong, I was really wishing that London was next. Now, although it's just a concession in Selfridges and it is quite small, it has such a good selection and it's really well laid out too. I didn't buy anything this time, but I did have my eye on a few things. Also, they've opened an online shop for the UK now, so we can shop online too! I'm just hoping that they'll open a bigger store next, and when there's a WEEKDAY here (that is if it will come over here *fingers crossed*), I'll be a happy girl.

We also went to Forever 21, personally I don't really like the clothes there, but I absolutely love the accessories. I got a necklace (which hopefully will be featuring in a blog post soon!) and a lovely checked scarf. I didn't buy much, which is good, but I'm going to London again next Saturday and I'll be on the lookout for a pair of boots for winter as my ASOS chelsea boots are slowly dying...*cries*

Now I'm off to do some English homework now so hopefully I'll post soon!

Wake up, it's a beautiful morning

Wassuuuuuuuupppp???

I've been so busy lately, so much homework from school at the moment, I've never been so thankful for the weekend!

So today, I went out to Portobello Market with Melissa as a belated birthday celebration as it was my birthday on Monday. We did originally plan to go to Oxford St too to visit Monki, which has newly opened in Selfridges, and also to spend some of my birthday money..hehe. However, we were so tired from walking up and down Portobello Road and also it started to rain so we cut our trip short and just perused the vintage stalls on Portobello. Of course, I got some goodies in the form of two checked shirts (as if I don't need anymore, but for me, they're a staple item as I wear them quite a lot and they were only £2 each!) and a dark green wool school blazer. It was only £12 and was such good quality; also, it fits me perfectly, it wasn't too oversized (as I have many oversized blazers) but wasn't too fitted either as I hate fitted blazers *bleh*

We stopped off for some lunch at Starbucks and I opened my birthday present from Melissa! I absolutely loved what she got me, she got me a vintage Kodak camera (pictures to come in my next post because it's so frigging awesome), a wooden 'A' with the names of all of The Strokes songs hand written all over it (again, pictures in my next post as it's too cool not to show you guys) and the best birthday card ever. HUGE THANK YOU TO MY DEAR FRIEND MELISSA! LOVE YOU BBZ. <3

I will try to do some more posts whenever I have time but can't guarantee anything as seriously, so. much. homework. I get like 3-4 pieces a day, everyday so basically my social life and cyber life (lolz) has been on hold for a while now haha. I might write a post tomorrow scheduled to be posted later this week so watch this space :)

When we was young, oh man did we have fun

This was my outfit from when Melissa and I went to Brighton. We did do some filming but the video isn't up yet, so I'll do a whole other post about our trip to Brighton when the video is up and running :)

Lately, I love the whole androgynous, 'boy meets girl' trend. I love the mannish boots, loafers and brogues, the clean cuts, oversized boyfriend coats, skinny jeans and masculine accessories. This is definitely my favourite trend for this A/W, now I'm on the lookout for the perfect oversized winter coat, brogue chelsea boots, preferably in oxblood and in a really hard, need-to-wear-in leather, and a black felt boater hat. If I get all of these items, I'll be sorted for this season me thinks. Oh and also some chunky knits to layer up with shirts in the winter. At the moment, I've been rolling up my jeans and pairing them with my trusty chelsea boots quite a lot. It's so comfortable and I love the glimpse of skin between the jeans and boots. Seriously, I wear my chelsea boots so much, anyone who doesn't have a pair, I strongly advise you all to go out a purchase a pair, they're so versatile and I think it's so worth spending a bit more on them as you'll wear them SO much so you do get a lot of wear out of them. They look good in the summer with floaty, floral dresses, but also in winter with jeans; which is why I'm contemplating buying these boots from Topshop, as my current boots are slowly dying as I wear them so much and I know they'll go to good use and will be a good investment for my A/W wardrobe. And even for S/S too.

Life ain't chess

Hey! Finally an outfit post non Paris related!

I wore this yesterday to go shopping with my mum, it was actually quite warm compared to how it's been most of this week. I hardly ever wear monochrome outfits, but I was inspired by the Fall H&M campaign in one particular photo where they're wearing the exact same outfit I am actually. It was only after I got the jumper and jeans that I realised I subconsciously bought the whole outfit haha.

Also, I wanted to show you my new watch! It was an early birthday present from my mum, I ordered it from Urban Outfitters and I absolutely love it. I know that it might not be everyone's cup of tea, what with it being huge, gold and so 80s, but I really like it. I wanted a watch completely different to my classic Armani one, which I wear all the time and I still love it. However this watch is one my of favourite accessories at the moment, and I can't wait to stack a million bracelets on top for the ultimate 'arm party' (phrase courtesy of The Man Repeller, whose blog you should all read if you don't already as she is hilarious and her blog is awesome, like)

My bag is from Beyond Retro in Brighton, I went with Melissa on Thursday, and we did some filming and took some photos so more on that in my next post...

Vintage Shopping à Paris

Final Paris post!

In this post, I'll be telling you about what vintage shops we went into in Paris, what they're like and what we bought.

So first of all, my sister and I went to the Hotel De Ville/Saint Paul area and stayed around that area mostly. My sister's friend (mentioned in my previous post) said that this area was similar to Soho in London, and was quite a trendy place with vintage shops dotted all over the place. Obviously, before going to Paris, I did quite a lot of research into the vintage and what were the best places to go. One name kept popping up on various guides and blogs: FREE'P'STAR.

FREE'P'STAR was the final shop we went to as before we actually had gone to it's sister store, FRIPES STAR (more on that later...).

As soon as we walked in, I was immediately struck by the mess of the whole shop. Clothes strewn all over the floor, jackets and jumpers hanging over rails and a mess of a gazilion pairs of Levi's cut offs chucked on the floor. However, please don't let this put you off. Amongst all that clutter, there were loads of gems hidden, you just have to rummage, which personally, I absolutely love doing as I feel a sense of achievement when I find a beautiful piece of clothing hiding in a huge pile of more clothes. I didn't buy anything from here as I was already carrying quite a heavy jacket from a previous store we went to, but I would definitely go back if I was in Paris. The prices are ridiculously cheap too, for example, a pair of Levi's denim cut offs (which I wouldn't spend over £10 on a pair in London) were priced at 5 euros. FIVE. EUROS. However, after rummaging in the corner of denim shorts for a while, I gave up as I couldn't find my size and I was growing impatient haha. But if you can be bothered I would definitely recommend spending a good 10 minutes looking through the pile as I'm sure my size was in there somewhere in the huge pile. There were dresses, jackets (denim and leather), smart pea coats, hats, t-shirts, shorts, skirts...basically everything. Also, there was a tiny spiral staircase (by 'tiny' I mean REALLY small, as in I was scared going down as the stairs were kinda scary too) leading down to a basement crammed full with more vintage goodies. If you like a good rummage and don't mind looking through a lot of crap to get to the good stuff, then I definitely recommend going there.

Now, onto my FAVOURITE vintage store...FRIPES STAR

This shop had the same layout as FREE'P'STAR, with clothes everywhere, a denim shorts corner of 5 euro shorts, and rails crammed full of amazing vintage pieces. Instead of a basement, there was a little room upstairs (again up a really narrow spiral staircase) with a few chests full of clothes all priced at 1 euro each. ONE. FREAKING. EURO. And again, after a good few minutes of rummaging, I found some great blouses. In the end, I also got myself this BEAUTIFUL fringed leather biker. It was perfectly distressed, and although a tad big for me, at just 20 euros, I could deal with that. Yeah, it was 20 euros, priced down from 40 euros. At first I did think it was too good to be true, as a leather jacket like this in a London vintage shop, I'd expect to pay £50 or more for it as it was so heavy too. My sister got this AMAZING black maxi dress with a stunning lace detail. The fluted sleeves, perfect fit and the beautiful lace detail, it was instantly a dress I could see my sister wearing. It was priced at just 20 euros. A jaw dropping price for a dress with such intricate detailing. I could see the dress being sold as a Topshop Premium dress for over £100, so 20 euros was pretty darn good.

The old vintage camera was kind of a random purchase from a camera shop around the corner from our hotel. I got it on our last day and after seeing a basket with a few old cameras in it every day we were there, I was intrigued and stopped to have a look. Most of the cameras were just old camera bodies with no lens, but this was the last one found still with it's old lens. It was just 5 euros as I didn't work anymore, but I got it just to display in my room. And for 5 euros, you can't go wrong really.

So this was a vintage shopping in Paris post, we didn't go to many shops, but we did find some amazing pieces. I would recommend just getting on the metro, and getting off at either Hotel De Ville or Saint-Paul, and exploring that area for yourself as I know that there are many vintage shops scattered all around that area, so for whoever plans to go to Paris any time soon, I highly recommend spending a good afternoon wandering around there.

Topshop dress, H&M sunnies, ASOS chelsea boots

So, our last full day in Paris...sad times.

We started the day by meeting up with my sister's friend Marie, who lives in Paris, at the pyramids. She gave us a mini tour of the city, and we had lunch at the infamous Ladurée! I was so so so excited to go, as I had never been before, but had heard ALL about it. Marie had recommended the omelette from there, so I went ahead and ordered an omelette and fries. It was so good, and the fries were yum, but the bit that I was most excited about was still to come...DESSERT! Of course, we had to order the macarons. We got a selection of 4 mini macarons, in orange blossom, strawberry and mint, salted caramel and violet and blackberry. The mini ones were more than enough as they were so sweet, I kinda just wanted to try the flavours more than anything. My favourite was the violet and blackberry flavour, closely followed by strawberry and mint. Both were actually quite refreshing after trying the salted caramel one, which was really nice, but so. so. sweet.

After, Marie took us shopping in some very expensive shops...e.g. Hermes, YSL, Christian Louboutin etc. And by 'shopping', I mean drooling at the amazing pieces in the shops, then crying a little inside when I looked at the price tag.

Then after Marie left, my sister and I went vintage shopping, the part of the trip I was most excited about. I will do a whole separate post about vintage shopping in Paris, so more on that next time...

And I'm sure you know how the day ended...dinner, then dessert. Oh my, the dessert. I swear, I must've eaten more dessert than anything else in Paris, it's just so damn good.

So, our second day in Paris...

We started the day with a trip on the métro to the stop 'Bir-Hakeim — Tour Eiffel'. Of course a trip to Paris wouldn't be complete without a visit to the famous Eiffel Tower. We both had already been to the Eiffel Tower a few times before, but when in Paris... We did actually plan on going up to the top, however when we arrived, there were HUGE queues snaking all around the space under the tower, so we decided not to queue for the whole day. Also, when you're on the Eiffel Tower, you can't take photos of the tower itself seeing as you're on it, so we decided to take a walk in the park near the tower to take some photos.

Afterwards, we hopped back onto the métro and got off at the stop 'Chaussée d'Antin - La Fayette' which led us straight to the ground floor of Galeries Lafayette. This huge department store is one of the main shopping destinations for those looking for endless floors of designer goodies, from Chanel to Prada. However, there was also an American Apparel, Thomas Sabo and many other non-designer shops too. Also, just across the foot bridge, where there was also the men's section, there was the foodhall, chock-full of food from around the world. There were a couple of patisseries selling every flavour of macaron possible and a really awesome bit selling loads of different types of salt, sugar and spices. I got a black salt from Hawaii and a pink salt from Australia for my foodie friend, they were so cool.

We grabbed lunch in the form of a ham and cheese baguette (which always seems to taste so much nicer in France...) from Paul's and headed to our final stop of the day, the Louvre. By this point, we had done a LOT of walking and were kinda tired, also, seeing as the wings in the museum are gigantic, we only visited two out of the three wings. Obviously, we got the touristy thing over and done with and went in search of the Mona Lisa. We knew we'd found it when there we saw a tiny painting with a huge crowd gathered around it trying to get a photo of probably one of the most famous portraits in the world, if not the most. I got a few photos, and then we had a stroll around some of the other galleries.

After getting some dinner, we bought some dessert and brought it back to our hotel room (which became our daily thing while we were there) and finally had a chance to relax, have some dessert and watch some american tv shows dubbed in French (which was so weird to watch btw)

Bonjour! I'm back from a crazy few days in Paris.

I've taken loads of photos and I don't really want to cram them into one long, photo heavy post; so I'm going to do my Paris posts day by day, so here goes...

My sister and I went straight to our hotel, which was a 5 minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe and the Charles de Gaulle Etoile metro station. I loved being so central and our room had a little balcony which had a pretty awesome view of the apartments across from our hotel, and their balconies. I wish more apartments in London looked like this, they were so beautiful and oh so Parisian.

When we arrived, the weather was amazing, so warm and the the sun was shining. So my sister and I took advantage of the beautiful weather and took a walk down the Champs-Élysées and chill in the Jardin des Tuileries. This walk was probably one of my favourite parts of the trip as although it's such a touristy area, it's hard not to appreciate the breathtaking scenery and architecture of Paris. We went into some shops along the Champs-Élysées and took loads of photos along the way.

We grabbed some dinner in a restaurant on the Champs-Élysées, got some yummy pastries from Paul's and walked back to our hotel for a cup of tea and dessert.

Our first day was so chilled and relaxed as we were knackered from travelling, but it was exactly what we needed.

Topshop dress, Office platforms, M&S socks, H&M sunnies and rings

Quick outfit post today before I go to Paris tomorrow with my sister! I'll be back on Saturday and will probably post on Sunday as it's pretty certain that I will be taking a LOT of photos. Especially because I recently purchased a new lens! I got this lens, and I've only had it for a few days and still adapting to the fact that it doesn't have a zoom but I already love it! It has a low aperture, so it works really well in low light conditions and is perfect for achieving the blurred background effect on your photos. Also, the fact that it only cost me £80, which is pretty darn cheap for a lens, makes me love it even more. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for another lens for their SLR, but doesn't want to spend hundreds of pounds. This lens really does have it all!

I'm going to return to packing now, so I will post when I get back!

Kate Moss for Topshop dress, H&M wedges, Topshop bag

This is what I wore to my cousin's wedding last week. It was such a nice day, the sky was clear and was pretty warm for England. The ceremony was beautiful and the whole wedding was just so much fun. I love weddings, mainly because it gives me a chance to dress up and wear things that I usually wouldn't wear on a normal day out shopping for example. I loved wearing this dress, it's so floaty and it has a beautiful floral print on it, as it's called the 'Lilabelle dress'. Also, I'm in love with the fluted sleeves too.

The wedding itself was such a joy to be a part of, it was at Cooling Castle Barn in the Kent countryside somewhere, and the location was perfect. It mostly took part outside in the sun and the band there were awesome! They were a reggae group I think and the lead singer was seriously the coolest guy. You know those people who just ooze cool? Well he was one of those people. All in all, it was a really good day, and we were really lucky with the amazing weather too. And a huge congrats to the newly wed couple! :D

Topshop crop top and bag, American Apparel chiffon maxi skirt, vintage camera bag, H&M wedges, misc. jewellery

Bonjour! Quick outfit post before I leave to stay at my auntie's house for a week.

I borrowed this beautiful skirt from my sister, and now I really want one for myself. I love the flowy-ness of the chiffon and the huge variety of colours that it's available in. Unfortunately, I can't afford to be spending £52 on a skirt, but if I could, I so would. So I'm planning a trip to my local fabric shop soon and stock up on some chiffon in a couple of colours and make my own DIY version of the skirt. I have already made one for my sister and it turned out ok, but now I know exactly what to do to make it perfect :) When I make it, I may do a post of how I made the skirt, and maybe even a video tutorial. Also, I'm planning to do a video on another little DIY I did a few months ago, as requested by one of my twitter followers.

dip dyed hair

On Wednesday, Melissa and I went to Camden early in the morning in search of Manic Panic hair dye to wait for it....DIP DYE OUR HAIR. Yup, that's right, Melissa decided to dip dye her hair pink, and I decided to dye it purple! Due to a misunderstanding as to when Cyberdog opened, we ended up going to Superdrug and buying bleach, and then our dye. I finally decided to buy Schwarzopf Live Luminance in L76 Ultra Violet.

We went back to my house and proceeded with bleaching our hair, then dying it. At first, I felt that the purple in my hair wasn't bright enough so when Melissa left, I used some leftover dye and dyed my hair again. As a result, the purple became a lot more visible and the shade of pinky-purple was exactly what I wanted. Although you can still see some bits of bleached hair, I quite like it as it adds the the messiness of the dip dye effect. What do you think?

I will be posting some photos soon of my hair with an outfit, but that will probably be on Monday as I'm going to a wedding (where I will be taking some photos too) on Sunday. So stay tuned for an outfit post in a few days!

Life’s too short to even care at all

Helloooooo! I finally posted an outfit! I did quite a few outfit shoots the other day, so I will try to post more regularly :)

I went to the Globe Theatre to see Much Ado About Nothing yesterday. I have studied this play before way back in year 8 for my SATs (remember them?! Pointless exams, meant to have taken them in year 9, but had to take them a year early, then the exams stopped in year 9 anyways ¬_¬). I had very bad memories of this play as my teacher was an absolute nightmare and year 8 was such a crap year. But I was looking forward to seeing it at the Globe as I always have fun when I go there with my sister and my best friend. My opinion of the play definitely changed by the end as it was hilarious, and the actors were perfectly cast. The actors who played Benedick and Beatrice were perfect for the role, so I definitely recommend it to anyone! And for standing tickets at just £5, it wasn't too expensive which is always good :)

Tomorrow, I'm going job hunting in London with Melissa, I'm hoping to find a job in a high street retailer or vintage shops (e.g. Rokit, Beyond Retro etc.) so wish me luck! I really need a job at the moment as I really want a new lens for my camera! And also, some extra shopping money is a bonus too haha.

So there aren't many proper photos of my full outfit, as I was in such a rush to go out, so I've just had to show you some photos of me and my group of friends before going. My cousin did my hair and makeup as I'm SO bad at that kind of thing. Sorry for the mish-mash of photos haha, but I just wanted to show you my dress. You can't really see in the photos, but there is a square cut-out on the side of the dress as well, which was probably my favourite part of the dress!

My prom was so fun though. It was over way too quickly, and it was so nice to see my whole year all dressed up and everyone looked stunning. We had our prom on a boat, which was such a good place to have it. Whenever we went under the many bridges in London, because we had an open roof, everyone waved and shouted at the people on the bridges, and it was fun to see the bewildered look on people's faces when we did that haha. Overall, my prom was amazing, and now I can't wait for my year 13 one!

I'm planning to take some outfit photos today as the weather is so gorgeous and I need to take advantage of the bright lighting! And I'm seeing Much Ado About Nothing at the Globe Theatre tomorrow, so I'll probably post on Sunday :)

palladium boots

I received a package this morning from VICE magazine, it was a pair of Palladium boots I got from doing the post about them a few months ago. I love them, it's my first pair, and don't think they'll be the last. They are so so comfortable, and I'll definitely be wearing these in this lovely weather we're having at the moment with a crop top and Levi's cut offs, outfit with the boots soon!

And sorry for not posting an outfit as I said I was going to, when I was going to take some photos, it started to rain in London so I wasn't able to, and I've been quite busy with preparing stuff for prom (which is tonight!) so haven't had much time. But things should calm down towards the end of this week, so I will DEFINITELY do an outfit post soon!

I saw Glee Live on Saturday at the o2. I am a gleek at heart and I love the show so seeing the actual cast live was amazing. The support act were LXD (League of Extraordinary Dancers) and they were so good, I easily could've watched the whole show of just them dancing. But the Glee cast were so good live and we saw The Warblers too! I am so in love with Darren Criss, especially after watching him haha.

Also, I watched The Breakfast Club the other day, which is easily my favourite film at the moment. I absolutely love the 80s (fashion, music, everything haha. I'm such a cheeseball.) and the film was AMAZING. It wasn't overly cheesy as quite a few 80s films are, and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Finally, I'VE FINISHED MY EXAMS!! I'm so happy, my summer has finally started, no more weekends stuck at home revising, and sitting in an exam hall for ages. Can't quite believe I've finished with GCSEs for good, it doesn't feel that long ago when I was thinking the GCSEs were so far away and it'd be ages until I finished with them. But now I finally have and it feels so good. However after summer, I'll be starting A-levels, hopefully at my school's sixth form (that is if I get the grades *fingers crossed*) as it's quite good and I want to study French, Spanish, English Literature and Business Studies. And my school is a specialist language college so really hoping I'll be able to get back into my sixth form!

Anyway, enough with my ramblings as I'm you've stopped reading now haha, I thought I'd compensate for not doing an outfit post with writing a mini update on my life, not very interesting, but yeahhh...

Hey! I'm trying to get this whole regular posting thing down, think I'm doing alright at the moment, lets just hope I'm able to keep this up...

As I'm writing this post, I probably should be learning some latin vocabulary for my exam tomorrow, but blog > latin revision. I've only got 4 exams left to do, which I'm so happy about, can't wait to finish them and have my prom! I've already got everything I need for it, so I just need to decide how to do my hair and make-up now. I will be taking plenty of photos from my prom and of my outfit, so that will definitely be a future post :)

These outfit photos were taken by Melissa in Brick Lane after the vintage fair at Spitalfields Market on bank holiday Monday. Brick Lane on a Monday is so dead, but it just meant we could find more places to take photos, which is always fun. I got the vintage camera bag from the market from that day for just £10. Which I thought was pretty good as it fits my camera perfectly, and much prettier than my old camera bag. But that's all I got from the market, which is good as I need to save money for summer. Then we took the train back to Melissa's local area and hit some charity shops. I found a lovely navy bag with quite a few compartments for £6.99, will do an outfit post with it soon! Afterwards, I went back to Melissa's house and we attempted to bake cookies. Emphasis on 'attempted'. We didn't have all the ingredients, so we decided to improvise and come up with our own creation, and what came out of the oven was one big brownie. It was actually still quite nice, even though it wasn't a cookie. All in all, it was a really fun day despite the rain, I'm just hoping the weather this summer will be nicer, if it rains, I will not be very happy. Or I might just move to somewhere sunny and warm...like Australia.

On that note, I'm going to get started with learning some latin vocab and grammar. FUN.

crinkled shirt

HEY! I've had quite a lot of time off school recently, so I've had more of a chance to take outfit photos (yay!) When I was about to take some photos, it started to rain outside (crappy, unpredictable English weather -_-) so I had to make do with the most plain wall in my house that I could find with remotely good lighting...only temporary!

Onto the outfit...I got these jeans a while ago, and you can't really see in the photos, but in the more distressed parts of the jeans, there is a floral patchwork kinda design, which is soooo cute. I love the shape of them too, quite different to what I usually wear when it comes to jeans (I'm more of a tight skinny jeans kinda gal) but I love them. And I know my shirt is all wrinkled and un-ironed, to be honest I couldn't really be bothered too, but now that I see the whole outfit, I quite like the worn in look of it.

And THESE WEDGES. So, I'll tell you a little, very uninteresting story but I'm gonna bore you anyway. So basically, I went out shopping with my mum a few weeks ago in search of some shoes to wear to a wedding in July (which I'm so excited for, I'm definitely bringing my camera and I will do a post on it after) and I saw these wedges for a mere £20 in H&M. And considering if I saw these wedges in any other high street shop, they'd probably be a LOT more expensive, which is what I love about H&M. But unfortunately, they weren't in my size *unhappy face* However, a few weeks later, I went back with my sister when she'd returned from her holiday in Hong Kong and I managed to find them in my size! I cannot explain how happy I was to find them, they go with my dress perfectly and are really comfortable. And my sister being the awesome, generous, kind person she is, she bought them for me too *happy face*. See, my story ended on a good note. Not so boring after all eh? Well, kinda but anyway...

On a completely different note, listen to The Strokes album, Is This It please, it'll do you good, I promise. It's been repeating on my itunes for a few weeks, and provides a perfect accompaniment to revision. I probably should be sick of it now, but seriously, with an album as good as this, it's hard to stop listening to it on loop.

Heyyyyyy, in the last post when I said 'outfit post in a few days' I lied. I meant a few weeks, sorry about that m'dears. I've had so many exams, and feel like I've got so many more, which is kinda true as now I have 8 more exams to go. The relief when I've finished them is gonna be amazing, can't wait!

I got this midi skirt at the vintage kilo sale in Brick Lane, once I had calculated what everything had cost each, the skirt came to about £5 which is pretty darn insane if you ask me. And I love wearing crop tops with high waisted shorts/skirts at the moment, it's shows just the right amount of flesh for the summer sun (that is if we get any this year *fingers crossed*)

I am so excited for this summer, my exams will finally be over, and I have a really good feeling about this year. I'll be going to Paris for a few days with my sister, planned a few visits to Brighton and planning to hit some carboot sales with Melissa which should be pretty fun. What have you guys got planned for this summer?

I'm going to start off this post by saying how much I love study leave. I have A LOT of exams this year (20 to be exact) but despite that, I still have at least a day a week where I don't have an exam and therefore don't have to go to school. This is amazing as it gives me time to revise, and also take some outfit photos, yay. Also, most of the time, I have like one exam a day, so when I don't have an exam I can go home! It's basically like my summer has already started and I just have to go into school for an hour or two for an exam. I wish school was always like this.

Now onto the outfit. My kind sister gave me these lovely suede shorts. They are the most amazing colour, and I love the zip detailing. However, it's kinda funny actually, the zips actually go all the way up, so if I unzip them by accident (which I have done before) I end up with these two huge slits in my shorts...awkward. But I love them so I don't care. And these wedges, I've had them for ages but I hardly ever wear them out! Which is a shame cos they're lovely, so my aim for this summer is to wear them out more as they're too nice to sit in a shoe box all year.

Now I'm gonna leave you with a song and video that I'm absolutely obsessed with at the moment. All this time off school makes me go on youtube. And on youtube you can find the most wonderful things, such as this video. I've developed quite an obsession with The Strokes in these past few days and this is my favourite song at the moment, check it out HERE.

HEY!

A few weeks ago, my sister and I went to Portobello market. I went there with just £25 in my purse as I'm trying to save money, but of course, I ended up spending it all with the help of the extra £5 my sister gave me. This was because (after I bought a blouse for £5) I spotted this amazing preppy style Ralph Lauren blazer in a vintage shop for just £25 *shocked face* I almost left it as I wasn't sure if I'd even wear it, but after trying it on I couldn't put it down. It's a wool blazer so kind of doubles up as a coat too and I love the colour! The condition is perfect and actually can't wait for the weather to get a bit colder so I can actually wear it out!

Now my first exam is on Monday =S (English Language Paper 1 and French Listening just in case you wanted to know haha.) so I won't be posting as much as I won't really have as much time to take outfit photos and post. So I will try to whenever I can but just so you know and don't think I'm leaving you! Cos I'm not, I'd never dream of it...*cue soppy cheesy music*

HEYYYYYY.

Anyways, onto this post, Melissa, from the awesome blog that is Unicorn and Tee, and I went to Greenwich Park in our Easter holidays. We took a boat from Embankment, down to Greenwich and walked around the area, had lunch in the park and did some filming; which equals ANOTHER DAY OUT VIDEO! You're excited right? I can tell. Considering I live about a 15 minute car ride from Greenwich, I probably could've just taken the bus there, but it's so worth taking a boat there cos IT'S TOTALLY AWESOME. The wind in your hair, the occasional splash of dirty River Thames water in your face. So glamorous. LOL jk, but it is actually pretty cool going on the boat so DO IT! :)

Once we got to Greenwich, we went to good ol' M&S to grab some lunch, walked through the empty Greenwich market (because we went there on a weekday, if you wanna go to the market, go on a Sunday, it's really cool there and the food is sooooo good.), then found a nice sunny space in the park. I love Greenwich park, especially on the day that we went as the weather was so nice, and the park is really beautiful on days like that, so it's definitely worth the trip. After taking gazillions of photos, and a few tweets later, it was time to go home and try to cut down all the photos into a neat, concise post. Which was so hard to do, but I tried even if there are still loads of photos, soz :)

Sorry for the really irregular posting, it'll probably be like this for a while as I've got my GCSEs coming up in less than 2 weeks, so obvs I'm revising hard (like duh.), but will try to keep posting as I have a few outfits I haven't had a chance to post yet soooooo stay tuned ;)

Heyyyyyy, just a quick post, these are the pictures from Brick Lane when Melissa and I went to the Vintage Kilo Sale, which was amazing. You will see our purchases in the up and coming 'Day Out' video :) I wore quite a few layers as you can see and was pretty hot as I didn't expect it to be so warm which is a good thing I s'pose.

And remember a few posts ago when I said I wanted a wide brimmed fedora? Literally 15 mins after I posted it, I went on the Urban Outfitters website to look at the sale and found the perfect hat for £10 so I kinda had to get it. It's so perfect, I want one in a different colour now, and I also really want a felt boater too like this one, but it's out of stock - 'Boo, you whore' (Mean Girls quote)

Blow, blow, blow it up

HAI GUYS!

I'm back after a whole 2 weeks of not posting...dun dun dun. But I kinda cheated...I took these pictures about a week and a half ago but just haven't got round to posting them yet so here it is. The weather in London is absolutely beautiful at the moment so I can actually get away with wearing a skirt tights-less which is always good.

On another note, it's Easter which equals 2 weeks off school. Now I would LOVE to be doing nothing and just generally relax...but I have GCSEs coming up which means revision. So instead of going out in the lavaly sunshine, I'm stuck inside learning about the goings on of the Cold War...the usual really.

I got a few comments from a couple of posts ago asking what lipstick I was wearing, I was using the Topshop Lipstick in Brighton Rock, you can find it here. I highly recommend it! I'm not a huge make-up kinda person but the Topshop lipsticks are really good, the colour really pops and it doesn't fade during the day or anything so BUY IT! :)

Also in these photos, I'm using Maxfactor lip tint. This stuff is actually amazing. It doesn't dry out or anything and it really does stay on forever. As in I had to rub my lips raw to get it off. Well that doesn't sound that good but what I'm trying to say is that it doesn't come off so you don't need to reapply it during the day or after eating. It's really light as well, after a while I forgot I was wearing it until I looked in the mirror and saw the bright red colour. So I also highly recommend this too, I'm using shade no.06. Here's a photo of the pen bit, it's quite easy to apply, just like drawing it on with a felt tip pen or something:

Oh and I found a new place to take pictures. Like ma fence?

Faux Fur

This is the faux fur coat that I was talking about in a previous post about Brick Lane, it's really a shame that I bought the coat towards the end of winter and beginning of spring, because although the weather still isn't that warm, it definitely not weather for a big fat coat which kinda sucks...there's always next winter I suppose! This is probably the first time ever that I'm quite looking forward to autumn/winter actually. Weird.

And recognise this bowler hat from yonks ago? I've decided that this summer I will try to wear more hats, so easy to just throw on and also, you don't need to worry about bad hair as the attention is diverted from your hair to the hat on your head YAY. I really want a wide brimmed fedora though, like 1920s style mens hats (also like Rumi Neely's one here) I've wanted one for ages but can't seem to find the perfect one without spending ridiculous amounts of money, so still on the lookout!

HAI GUYS! Oh how I've missed you all so, I've been a crappy blogger recently, I blame my school and the ridonculous amount of work they expect you to do...grrrrr. -_-

But hey, new post = new outfit = GOOD TIMES. (I hope.) This was a quick outfit, kinda similar to the outfit I wore to the vintage fair last week actually, but I'll save all the vintage fair goodness for my next post, or the one after cos it deserves it's own post cos it was amazing. Although all this vintage shopping I've been doing recently is not good for the purse, it's feeling lighter and lighter each time I buy a new jumper, or coat, or bag...but it's so good. It's like an addiction. I should go to Vintage Shoppers Anonymous for some guidance on how to get rid of this habit actually. But then if I got rid of this habit, my wardrobe would be so boring, so scratch that idea.

I babble a lot, on and on so, um, I should probably stop here before I bore you guys any longer. Does anyone actually read this bit?

Melissa + Aimee Day 6: Brick Lane

Ahhh, another day out for you guys to watch, sorry for the overload of photos, but we had such a great day, I couldn't just pick a few photos to show!

On Sunday 20th, Melissa and I went to Brick Lane, and I had been there before, but I didn't really get a chance to explore the market properly and this was the first time Melissa had been there too, but we weren't disappointed. To start with, the atmosphere itself definitely has an edge over Portobello Market, there was music booming from various market stalls, the smell and sound of food from all over the world cooking and the general buzz of excitement from everywhere you go.

The food is amazing, I had a pad thai and Melissa had a falafel wrap and from what she told me, I gather that it was pretty yummy, as was my pad thai so if you're not really into the whole vintage clothing thing, then you should definitely just go there for the food as it is so good and really cheap as well!

But the vintage clothing shops and stalls are really good, although the prices weren't as cheap as Portobello, the quality of the selection of clothing is still pretty awesome. Melissa got an AMAZING sheepskin coat from a huge vintage market (which we only discovered towards the end of the day so we'd already spent most of our money -_-) for about £25, it had velvet pockets and looked so so warm, and for that price, it's pretty darn good! She also got a men's pea coat from a vintage shop for £10 which looked so cosy as it had a giant collar and was just the right amount of oversized (if that makes sense?).

I got this honey coloured faux fur coat from a stall for £20, it was so soft and the perfect size. I had wanted the perfect vintage faux fur coat for ages before and browsed ebay for some but never really found the perfect one, but this coat is so lovely, I couldn't help but stroke myself for the whole day when I wearing it, as did Melissa actually haha ;)

Overall, we had an awesome day, and we'll definitely be returning to Brick Lane with more money and we'll be going to the vintage market first as it was huge, and was almost like the vintage fair we went to last year except it's open every week, even better! I would recommend Brick Lane to everyone, it has such a laid back atmosphere and seems like the perfect way to spend my Sunday afternoons. Oh and we saw Sandra from 5 inch and up in Absolute Vintage. She's so cool. We love her. But in a totally non-creepy way....moving on...

Despite typical British weather (rain.) and although most of the stalls towards the end of the market (which is actually the best part) were closed, we still managed to find some awesome bargains. Howdy! This is what I wore to school on non-uniform day today as it was valentines day, fairly casual outfit. I wish it was non-uniform all the time, it's sooooo comfortable and I don't have to worry about my ill-fitting blazer and a skirt that is prone to wrinkling very easily.

I actually cannot wait until half term starts! This half term has felt so long at school so a week off will do very nicely for me, especially since Melissa and I are planning a few vintage outings and I haven't been vintage shopping in too long so it should be pretty awesome. We'll be filming our days out so that you guys can experience the awesomeness that is Camden, Portobello Road, Brick Lane and another vintage fair!

To finish, I shall leave you with a song that makes me smile every time I listen to it and is just a lovely song :D

I wore this to go to the cinema to see Tangled, I wasn't expecting it to be amazing, but it was SO good, not as cheesy as you'd expect it to be for a Disney animation, and it was even better in 3D. Then after we went to Prezzo for some lunch, I had a HUGE calzone, it was YUMMMM. Then had a honeycomb smash cheesecake for dessert which made me feel kinda sick, but in a good way. Kinda.

Also, it's so freaking windy at the moment...what's with that? I want to be be summer already, to be able to go out without having to worry about gazillions of layers and feel like a snowball all the time!
And my camera remote arrived today, I got this one here, and you can probably see me holding something in these photos, it is amazing! So much easier and quicker to take photos without having to run back and forth and wait for the self timer anymore! I would recommend it to everyone who can use a remote on their camera...IT'S A REVELATION!

Pretty girl, wreckin' bar

This was my outfit from when I went to the theatre and then went to carvery on Saturday. It was such a good day as for the last two weeks, I had so much to do at school, homework, exams blah blah blah, and Saturday was a really good day to just forget about it and have a goooooood time, which I certainly did! The show was really good, and the food was yum so all in all, was a great day out with my sister.

The first picture was what my outfit looked like when I was out, with the shoes and coat etc. and the other photos I took when I got home. I've been wearing this blouse non stop since I got it in the sale for £10 (of course washed in between outfits haha). It's so versatile and is so easy to just chuck on and go, but the only thing is that it's really static and with my long hair, it can get quite annoying, but I still lurveee it :D

Oh and did anyone else watch Skins on Thursday? The new cast are nothing compared the the old seasons and the acting isn't very convincing, I'm just hoping it gets better as the first episode was a bit of a disappointment, especially with all the hype it had before it started =S

Going to see Love Never Dies on Saturday, then going to a 3 course carvery nomsss, bringing my camera so I will probably do a post about that outing after, I'm so excited, more so for the food than the musical yummmm :)

Vintage cardigan and dress, Topshop belt and loafers

Soooooo...I GOT A NEW CAMERAAAA yayyy :) I got the Canon EOS 500D, it was actually a Christmas present from my mum but didn't order it until January, but I don't care cos now I have it! I had been looking at this camera for ages, probably since the beginning of summer holidays, I watched and read countless reviews of the camera and looked at a lot of sample pictures and finally decided to get it. The camera is amazing, the quality of the photos are so much clearer than my old digital camera, and I didn't really think I'd see a huge difference but it is really noticeable compared to the graininess of my old photos, so expect much better photos now and more outfits as I love any excuse to play around with my camera. Still getting accustomed to all the different modes and have been doing a lot of reading up on the camera so I'm only just starting to get used to it, but my photography skills will definitely improve with time ;)

As for the outfit, my sister actually gave me this dress, it's a beautiful velvet material in the deepest red, I'm actually in love with it, and the cardigan I got at the vintage fair from last year, it's huge and chunky but I love it, in my opinion, the more oversized the better and this is definitely over-oversized.

Oh and sorry for not getting back to comments yet, I've been so busy, you'll know if you follow my twitter, but I promise I will get back to all your lovely comments asap :)

Now I'm ready to start

It's been about two weeks since my last post woahhhhhhhh, but I went out in the rain just to take some pictures for fear of neglecting my blog which I will never do obviously ;)

I ordered these lovely loafers from the Topshop sale and was uber excited to get them. When they came, I instantly fell in love with the untouched, shiny leather and the overall simplicity of the design but wearing them out is a whole other story. Luckily the first time I wore them out was to my local shopping centre but the stiff leather took the skin off my ankles :( Stupidly I wore them out again the next day to London on an outing with Melissa, which was a bad idea, I basically bled through the plaster onto the shoes blehhhhh, but after a few hours of pain and bloodshed I have worn them in and love them all over again.

The coat is also another purchase in the Topshop sale, I went to the Oxford Circus branch of Topshop on Boxing Day in order to get it which was also a bad idea, but was worth it cos I got the coat woop woop.

I'm sitting at my laptop, trying to think of a word to describe 2010, and the only word that comes to mind is AWESOME. I know, as you can tell, my vocabulary isn't very varied but seriously, 2010 was amazing, in terms of this blog, school and friends. I started this blog as a way to show people my personal style and when I started it back in December 2009, I honestly had no idea that it would grow so much and that I would even be featured on Teen Vogue! I hope that 2011 will bring more incredible opportunities for Peardrops & Polkadots and I will work hard to ensure that that happens :D

It's been hard enough on me

This is what you call layering to the max, but I was still cold despite the countless amount of layers on, damn this weather. Wore this outfit shopping on Oxford Street apart from the wedges, I substituted the f21 wedges for a lower pair from H&M but my feet were still killing at the end of the day...I really need to get used to walking in heels! Did some Christmas shopping and some Aimee shopping too in Topshop. Got this and this. The blouse is the nicest flowy kinda material, can't wait to wear it and the lipstick! Oh my, it's my first lipstick but definitely not my last, I love the pop of colour and it smells really nice too, so nice in fact that I kinda wanna eat it. But I won't.

And on that note, that's me done for now, laters on the menjay :)

Sooo....long time no see huh? Expect posts to slow down a bit this year as I have mocks and then GCSEs which means a whole loada work but when I do post it will be AWESOME.

Hmmm, talking of GCSEs, why did I ever pick Latin as an option?!?! Bad decision making on my part, could've picked something like Business Studies or Geography but no. I pick Latin. This cape is amazing, you can wear it as a blanket, cape, or just a thing that keeps you warm, the animation in the last picture should demonstrate this if it works, if not, then just click on it and hopefully it should work!

Woahhh, it's been about 3 weeks since my last post, but thanks for the new followers and comments, I'll be a better blogger from now on :)

My wardrobe has grown substantially in size since the last time I've posted, and one of my new purchases is this maxi skirt from Zara, I love the flowy material and the speckled jersey, I lurveeeee it!

AND how could I forget? One of my birthday presents from my brother and sister is this amazing watch! It's actually unisex, which is perfect for me as I love the huge watch face and the thick leather strap. The colour of the watch face is like a tea stained colour, these pictures really don't do this watch justice but it really is a gorgeous watch!

Ordered these wedges from Forever 21 a few months ago, but didn't wear them until monday because I stupidly ordered a size too big, but after some insoles and heel grips, they fit perfectly and although they are very high, I LOVE THEM!

Now I'm gonna go and watch the new episode of The Vampre Diaries, I love this show :D

I've been a bad blogger for the last two weeks, and haven't replied to comments since July, but all of that is changing now and I am back on track! I've just been so lazy this summer with taking outfit pictures and posting. I have so many awesome things I still need to show you guys and I know I've been saying this for ages but DEFINITELY in the next post I'll show you all my new summer purchases. I tend to post more regularly when I'm at school, maybe because I have a daily routine during school time and blogging is usually somehow integrated into it. But I promise that I will be a better blogger from this day on *does the brownie promise thing*

Anyhow, onto my outfit, the jacket is made of suede which I got for £10? (I can't really remember, but I do remember it was cheap) from Portobello Road Market, I love the buttons on it but I forgot to get a close up pic, I can tell that I will be living in this jacket in autumn teamed with skinny jeans and chelsea boots.

Got this army shirt from Camden for £5! The best bargain ever. This outfit was inspired by Alexa Chung, she's so awesome, and she's a Londoner which makes it even better, I'm a bit biased I suppose.
