Ahoy there mateys
Today, I met up with Melissa for some brunch at The Breakfast Club in soho and a much needed catch up as I hadn't seen her in half term because she was doing French work experience. I'm going in June with the same company so I was looking forward to hearing about her time there and having a general chat really. Despite queueing for about an hour before we finally got seated (it's always so busy at there, especially because we went on a Sunday morning, but the food is so good that I can justify queueing for a while for it), we still had a lovely brunch of french toast with apples and cinnamon, I had a chai tea latte and Melissa had a cup of English breakfast tea. Afterwards, we wandered around Soho and went to our favourite newsagent to browse their huge selection of fashion/photography magazines. Then we made our way to Carnaby Street to go to the newly opened Monki and Cheap Monday. I was so excited to visit Monki especially, as the Selfridges concession is tiny and the selection isn't the best there; but the stand alone store is amazing. There are two amazingly decorated floors of clothes,, accessories and these little cushions of their different Monki characters. After spending ages browsing all the clothes, I decided to buy a sheer black sleeveless chiffon shirt dress for £20, but I had to buy a large because it was the last one, but I kinda like it slightly more oversized. Then we went to the normal shops on Oxford St (Topshop, H&M, Zara) and then finally said our goodbyes. It was a good day, even if I did end up spending a bit more money than I had initially planned to. Story of my life.
I got this coat from Portobello Market for £3 WHAT A BARGAIN. It was originally from Marks and Spencers St Michaels and is 100% wool. I have been wearing it non stop since I got it, and it seems to go perfectly thrown over any outfit, except maybe this one...
Anyways, I'm off now, but before I go, I would advise you to listen/watch the following song by The Vaccines, produced by none other than Albert Hammond Jr of The Strokes, what a great combo.
