I'm back from a few days in Amsterdam with my sister and I had so much fun. It was my first time there and I was really impressed by the beauty of the architecture and the canals. Also, I loved the fact that there were more cyclists on the roads than cars and the next time I go there, I'd love to hire a bike for the day as the roads in Amsterdam are definitely better accommodated for bicycles than cars and it'd be lovely to cycle around the city's many canals.
After a 4:30am start in order to make our flight on time, we finally arrived in Amsterdam with still a whole day of things to do. We started off with checking into our hotel for a rest, to familiarise ourselves with our surroundings and to plan what we were going to do. We decided to have quite a chilled out day and went shopping (the Zara and H&M there are so good), went to the infamous sex museum (lolz), where I was shocked, slightly disturbed and amused at times by the displays, and just walked around the area to get a feel for the city. We also went to the flower market which was really close to our hotel and of course I took many photos of the beautiful flower displays. I hadn't actually planned to do much shopping before the trip but as per usual, I found some gems in the Zara sale and stocked up on basics from H&M. After dinner at Wagamamas, we went for a walk and went back to our hotel room for some dessert and mint tea. We had a very relaxed first day in the city, but we did a lot more on our second day which means more photos (yay) so stay tuned for the post in a few days!
